Chocolate soup, Edinburgh, Scotland
Posted by Bee on November 14, 2006

Chocolate soup is the last stop we visited on the morning we left Edinburgh. It is one of the most special cafe style shop that i’d ever visited. First of all, they really serve chocolate SOUP!!! it comes with all sort of different muffins and cookies. I gladly bought a chocolate muffin while Jiavern go for a banana toffee muffin. Each of them cost £2.50. at first i thought that they will gave a chocolaty tasted creamy drinks to resemble chocolate soup for us to dung the muffin or cookies. But it surprise us that they gave us true melted liquified chocolate. Its very rich in taste and was absolutely amazing.
Chloe bought a chocolate desert which called chocolate sandwich. It was consists of a layer of brownies, vanilla ice-cream and a piece of chocolate. thanks to the cold weather, the ice cream wasnt melted easily. Anyway, that was absolutely sinful to tastebud. Hope we can have one in Malaysia next time.

I went here with my advisor when we were there this past Aug. for Festival Fringe. I gotta say I love any place with THAT much hot cocoa and served in a bowl cup. I had the Autumn Spice one and it was so so terrific. I liked the interior/couchy seats as well. It’s a very charming/tasty/ and reasonably priced cafe and in a very good location (right off Royal Mile).
I wished I had gone there more often that month! (I was living next to a Black Medicince Coffee so I usually popped into there because I liked the buy a large takeway hot drink get a bottle of water free deal) I got sidelined in Elephant House quite often which is also cute (but more crowded) but mostly because they made one of if not the best Cafe Mocha I’ve ever had.
Hopefully I’ll be back in Aug 09 and try more stuff @ Chocolate Soup. That sandwhich looked fantastic.

We ate at chocolate soup while in Scottland. Is this a franchise? I’ve never seen anything like it anywhere else.
Thank you,
Lyn

Could I possibly get a copy of your menu. We only had the pancakes covered in chocolate but can see you have other delicious items.
Thank you so much!
