Last sunday, my family and I went out for dinner at 1 Utama. My brother (John) was aiming for a sushi buffet place called Shogun (thanks erizabesu for the info) while the rest of us didnt have any preference in mind. Once we reached there , the place was jammed pack. I dont recall the name of the restaurant though. We were listed as dining party no. 9 on the waiting list. John kind of forgot that my mother does not like japanese food so after a short discussion and brainstorming on what else to eat, Jenny (sister in law) suggested we eat at a pricey restaurant on the lower floor.

Classy place! After a few minutes of talking , the food came. I ordered Linguini cooked with ham, mushrooms and crushed tomatoes. Very nice and filling

John ordered the special of the day; Pork knuckle with garlic potatoes , steamed veg and butter cream mash potatoes!

Jenny had a pork chop. Its not the usual thing that you see in western grills. No batter , no crunchy stuff. Its pure meat!

Finally, my mom had Pork Belly.

My family’s dishes were served in i dont know what brown sauce and i’m sure it wasnt bbq sauce. We shared our dishes with each other and honestly, it was too much. Each serving was enough for 2 people but who cares if you’re not going to eat like this everyday. Eat!!!!

Here is what I looked like before and after the meal.

Before- Still happy but hungry

After – Bloated and satisfied

Each dish ranges from RM 30-50. Its ok given that the portions are huge and the food tastes delicious. I give it a 2 thumbs and 2 Toes up. :D

  1. [...] Pork Ribs!!! Although in my opinion it was sub par to Tony Roma’s ( a ribs restaurant in Singapore ).  The side dishes are getting boring since it is the same for all the pork dishes I had since last time. [...]

i have tried Toni Romas, is alright, maybe i will write a post on that next time. Al fresco is much much better, i have tried twice in hanoi Vietnam, heard that there is a franchise in Malaysia as well, anyone know where is the restaurant located?
